Announcing high availability with 6-second failover

With the constantly growing demand for high performance delivery of video and software every second of downtime counts. We know that and we've designed our failover solution with speed in mind. It takes 6 seconds for our monitoring system to identify a slow or unresponsive node on our network and to start rerouting the traffic to another server in the rack. In the event of a natural disaster or force major circumstances, rerouting takes place on a datacenter level with no additional delays.

Apart from watching after the state of our network, our system also receives real time data from each server regarding it's system load and disk usage, providing an effective load balancing solution within the rack, with the aim to pick the best performing server for every request.

To reflect on this new functionality, TTL for all zones will be lowered gradually in the following days.
