As you may have noticed, we've recently redesigned our blog. The old design was starting to show it's age and was based on a centralized system (Grav), which meant that it was running on a host somewhere, partially proxied via PUSHR CDN. This host had to have PHP running on it and also acted as a single point of failure. If it did go down for some reason, our blog would not be accessible and publishing a new post would not be possible until the issue is fixed. But apart from high availability we also like speed. We've wanted our blog to run entirely on our edge network just like our website does in order to make sure it loads fast everywhere, 24/7.

We've been receiving some criticism for some time regarding our website being slow which, let's be honest, is not a great self-advertising for a CDN service. PUSHR CDN does not advertise website acceleration at all among the services that we offer as that is not our specialty, and our website was not accelerated by our CDN. Since a redesign was due, we've decided to host the new website directly on our CDN network and see where this goes in terms of speed, especially compared to other CDN services that claim to specialise in website acceleration.
We are happy to announce that after a month of testing, two weeks ago we've silently released our anycast DNS to all customers. Anycast is a routing method in which a single destination address is routed to multiple endpoint addresses. The shortest network path between the client and the server is being used automatically to ensure low latency and fast connectivity, and in the event of a failure of one or more endpoints, the algorithm will exclude them from the mix, redirecting all requests to the healthy ones. Just like our failover system system does for PUSHR CDN's edge network.
